Financial Assistance
How to pay for college can be among the most difficult decisions in deciding to further your education. Getting a great education is not a cheap endeavor, but we're here to help make it a little bit easier. Here's the types of financial assistance to consider when financing your education.
Scholarships
A scholarship is a monetary reward given to those who excel in specific areas such as academics, athletics, music, or art, and normally does not have to be repaid. There are lots of scholarships that have very little competition for them, and are just waiting for the right person to find them and apply.
Grants
Educational grants are given as non-interest, non-repayable loans to help with college tuition. These grants can be quite substantial. More than $1 Billion dollars a year is awarded in Pell grants alone.
Loans
Student loans are the most common option for paying for college. While grants and scholarships may subsidize a fair amount of the cost, student loans will bear the brunt of the load. These loans are very low interest compared to other types of loans.
