The Medical Biller program is structured to give students the essential expertise and skills for work as an entry-level Medical Biller. Medical Billers perform the front office duties in clinics, hospitals, and medical groups. Graduates of this program can also be Health Claim Examiners who work with insurance companies. Students are instructed in billing forms, eligibility guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, as well as different billing procedures. Graduates will understand how to use ICD-9 and CPT books for coding diagnoses and procedures. This program utilizes computer instruction to simulate the practice of medical billing. This course requires 720 total clock hours for completion.
