Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Westwood College

The Criminal Justice program integrates the areas of sociology, ethics, and the legal system in order to give students the tools needed for a wide variety of careers. Graduates of this program are able to enter the criminal justice field in the probation and corrections areas. Furthermore, students receive a hands-on education that prepares them to obtain entry level positions as parole officers, pretrial service officers, correctional treatment specialists, and youth advocates. Students are equipped to hold these positions via the development of a knowledge base, social awareness and technological skills within the program. Topics covered by this program include criminology, criminal procedure, criminal investigation, victimology, criminal justice ethics, and juvenile justice. As with many other degree programs, students also receive instruction in courses that are more general in nature. These topics include instruction in the areas of interpersonal communication, project management, success strategies, and career management.
