The University of Cincinnati has a long history of providing the best possible education for students either through their extensive on campus learning options or in the newer online degree formats. Either options gives students access to some of the best researchers, professors and instructors in their respective fields, as emphasis for faculty selection is other practical, professional experience as well as educational background. All instructors are highly qualified for their teaching positions with most holding either a Master's or Doctoral level degree, depending on the type of program that they are instructing. Online instructors are specially trained and experienced in providing the same high level of interaction, discussion and learning for online students as they would expect if completing their degree through a traditional on campus format.

Fully accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Higher Learning Commission, the University of Cincinnati has been providing quality education since 1819. At least 35 other associations accredit one or more courses or programs offered through the University of Cincinnati. All courses, whether completed online or on campus are accredited in the same manner and by the same applicable accreditation organizations. Although internet courses are a relatively new development, they are highly regarded and can be accessed by students on a worldwide level. All students completing an online degree will earn the same degree as on campus students, however they may be able to accelerate their degree through the online programming options.

The University of Cincinnati offers several specialized programs for students, both online and on campus. These programs include assistance in selecting courses that will meet student's educational and career goals, international programs of study, financial assistance and support, as well as continuing education and lifelong learning courses for graduates. All students attending the University of Cincinnati are eligible to apply for federal, state and private grants, loans and scholarships and financial support staff can help with eligibility requirements and information on help with funding the degree.

The University of Cincinnati offers programs at the Associates, Bachelors and Masters level in the schools of business, education and health. A Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) is also offered online for those qualifying students. Courses at the Bachelor level include addiction studies, early childhood education and health information management to name just a few. Masters programs online focus on areas in nursing and health care, education, criminal justice and educational leadership. Throughout the online courses students interact with each other and faculty through a variety of methods including email, live chat systems and discussion and message boards and forums. Students are actively encouraged to participate in group work and the social aspects of learning, even when completing their degree online. Course material may include streaming videos, access to online course study guides, online journals and library books as well as videoconferencing. Courses using videoconferencing will require the students to attend the videoconferencing location at specific dates and times, but these are published well in advance to allow for scheduling. Most online courses predominantly used CD Roms to share information, which allows students to review and repeat information as often as necessary.
