The University of Cincinnati has a long history of providing the best possible education for students either through their extensive on campus learning options or in the newer online degree formats. Either options gives students access to some of the best researchers, professors and instructors in their respective fields, as emphasis for faculty selection is other practical, professional experience as well as educational background. All instructors are highly qualified for their teaching positions with most holding either a Master's or Doctoral level degree, depending on the type of program that they are instructing. The University of Cincinnati offers programs at the Associates, Bachelors and Masters level in the schools of business, education and health. A Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) is also offered online for those qualifying students. Courses at the Bachelor level include addiction studies, early childhood education and health information management to name just a few. Masters programs online focus on areas in nursing and health care, education, criminal justice and educational leadership. Throughout the online courses students interact with each other and faculty through a variety of methods including email, live chat systems and discussion and message boards and forums. Students are actively encouraged to participate in group work and the social aspects of learning, even when completing their degree online. Course material may include streaming videos, access to online course study guides, online journals and library books as well as videoconferencing. Courses using videoconferencing will require the students to attend the videoconferencing location at specific dates and times, but these are published well in advance to allow for scheduling. Most online courses predominantly used CD Roms to share information, which allows students to review and repeat information as often as necessary.
